Why Losing Weight When You Have Diabetes is Important

Why Losing Weight When You Have Diabetes is Important

According to the CDC, over 29 million people in America have type 2 diabetes. The trend over the last few years is for that number to grow, which is alarming. Perhaps even more unsettling than that is that there are another 86 million adults that have prediabetes. Prediabetes is what the medical community refers to as having a higher blood sugar level than normal yet it not being high enough to be type 2 diabetes.

Are you one of these people? Again, the CDC says that 1 in every 4 people that have diabetes don’t know that they have it. That’s scary because diabetes can put you at a much higher risk for serious health complications including vision loss, stroke, heart disease, and kidney failure. You may also need to have your toes, feet or legs amputate. And another frightening thing about diabetes is that it can lead to your untimely death.

I know these are not pleasant things to think about, but if you want to prevent that from happening to you, you need to take the steps to change your life RIGHT NOW. I am here without judgement to make that happen for you. Join my program and you can avoid becoming a statistic. Whether you have pre-diabetes or have been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes already, or you’ve got family members that are, it’s time to get on the right track for better health.

Learning How to Manage Diabetes
It’s a fact that most people that have type 2 diabetes are overweight. While there are other factors that contribute to the development of type 2 diabetes, it is obesity that is the best predictor of it, according to the Obesity Society. Data shows that nearly 90% of people that have type 2 diabetes are overweight or classified as obese. Those that are overweight or obese have more pressure on the body regarding using insulin to effectively control their levels of blood sugar.

If you’re overweight or obese, it is time to take the power back in your life. You CAN make a change for the better. It is not easy but it is worth it, and you WILL feel so much better.

So many people are put on countless medications to manage diabetes. The expenses are endless and they don’t do a thing to help you feel better. Take things into your own hands, of course with your doctor’s blessing, and turn your health around. If my Aunt Mitzie can do it, then so can you!

Why My Aunt Mitzie is Awesome!

FattoFit

My Aunt Mitzie is a huge inspiration to people with diabetes because she lost 97 pounds and she’s still making progress as she moves toward her ideal weight. Aunt Mitzie has lost weight and inches and is loving life because she was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and fatty liver disease. When she joined my program, she committed to getting her life back. At one time, she was on 7 medications. Let that sink in. 7 different medications to control her health problems. Norco, Glipizide, Estradiol, Simvastatin, Insulin and Metformin were some of the medications she’d been taking and guess what? Now she’s completely off of them.

Recently, Aunt Mitzie had to have surgery performed, something doctors couldn’t have done if she didn’t lose weight. As a result of her efforts with my health program that helped her get into proper nutrition to stabilize her blood sugar, she lost the weight, got off those horrible diabetes medications and her fatty liver disease was reversed!

What You Can Do to Take Control of Type 2 Diabetes
You don’t have to suffer with type 2 diabetes. If you’re prediabetic, you can reverse the damage by taking control of your lifestyle. That includes eating right and exercising. You’ll want to talk to your doctor about it to make sure there are no other risks you should be alert to and then you’ll want to jump in with me to help get you on track with my proven health program that really works. Weight management is the absolute best thing for taking control of type 2 diabetes and turning your health around. If you start now, you’ll be making strides to heal your health and live a better quality of life.

I know it’s hard to make such big changes, and to be told you have diabetes or you’re at risk for developing it can be really upsetting news. Some people even feel depressed because of it and I completely understand. It’s scary to hear, but what’s scarier than that is to let yourself continue to go when you CAN do something about it. Why live the rest of your life with medical conditions and taking medication?

With better nutrition, more physical activity and working to control your blood glucose levels, you can stop the progression of diabetes and even reverse it to prevent further complications from arising. Here are the things you’ll be doing with me as your coach to help you get on track and turn your diagnosis around naturally.

Control your blood glucose levels
The pharmaceutical companies are getting richer and richer with every person diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. Prescriptions for medications that control your blood glucose levels aren’t cheap, even if you have health insurance. And many of these medications have awful side effects. Live life more naturally by controlling your own blood glucose levels. There’s an easy way to it…lose the weight!

Losing the weight
When you lose weight, you become less resistant to insulin which helps your body start to heal on its own. Even just losing a small portion of weight will help you to use your own insulin better. Diabetic or not, there are so many advantages to losing weight. You’ll experience higher energy levels and be able to do all the things you want to do. You’ll lower your cholesterol levels and protect your heart. Plus, as I mentioned before, you’ll be able to control your blood glucose level. Weight loss is a big challenge, but managing your weight is critical to your treatment plan. It’s not easy to stay motivated, but that’s what I’m here for. I’m here for you every step of the way. We can beat it together!

Eating right
There is no diet made just for diabetics. The key is to start eating whole foods and watching what you put into your body. You didn’t become diabetic because you were eating too many fruits and vegetables! You got this way from processed foods and additives found in pre-packaged convenience foods. But there is a way out of it. I’ll teach you how to eat right and get the proper nutrition your body needs. And you won’t feel deprived or like you’re missing out on real food because it IS real food. I’ll show you how to make these fruits and vegetables in such a way that you won’t miss all those additives, I promise! You also need to get into whole grains. Anything else is bleached and processed and not good for you. And you’ll need healthy fats, like the kind found in avocados or pistachios.

Be in control
It’s not just about eating right though. It’s about eating the right portion sizes. You have to take control of the amount of foods you eat because even healthy foods have calories. Cutting down on those calories along with your exercise will help you lose weight. And as we already discussed, weight loss helps you to gain control of your own insulin naturally.

Get active
I know how hard it is to motivate yourself when you feel down. When you look in the mirror and don’t like what you see or you’ve been diagnosed as a diabetic, it’s easy to feel like a failure. But you’re NOT a failure! You can’t quit now. This is where it really counts. My Aunt Mitzie didn’t quit. She picked herself up from the bottom and took control of her health and her life. Even if you’ve never exercised before, it’s time to start moving. It helps stabilize your blood sugar and blood pressure, plus it will put you in a good mood. You can try anything you like for exercise! That’s the beauty of it! Start off simply walking 30 minutes a day or take a fun class for aerobics. Do what is appealing to you and you’ll be more likely to stick to it and take care of your health.

Diabetes doesn’t have to be a death sentence, but it very well can be if you don’t take the steps you need to so you can manage it. If you follow my program like my aunt did, you can reverse your health complications and turn them into badges of honor.

Whatever you think you can or can’t do, you’re right. So, choose to think that you can do it. Not convinced? I can handle that for you. Let me show you my amazing program that got me back on track in my life. It’s truly life-changing and it’s exactly why I do what I do now…to help people like you get back to good health again.

If you’re reading this and you don’t have diabetes yet, you can turn things around right now and save yourself. Let me help you. I know it’s hard but I’m here with you and we can do it together. You won’t feel alone on your journey, I promise. What you need to do is commit to better health for yourself so that you can live a better life.

Do you have children that look up to you? Set a good example for them now and get your health back so you can be around to watch them grow up! That’s why I took care of myself. My life was way off track and I found my way back.

And one last thing: forgive yourself. Please do it right now. It’s the first step in taking the power back and beating diabetes. Let’s help you lose that weight so you’ll look and feel good and impress your doctor with your improvement in health!
